Although I did review my goals and the progress that I made with them last year, I realised that I didn’t and haven’t vocalised the growth that I made last year. Every year I feel like I am transforming into the best version of myself taking more risks and stepping out of my comfort zone to either win or learn more. Here is my review of 2024.

Azure Certification
I started the year completing my first Azure certification, the Azure fundamentals. I’m currently working a lot with .NET in my career so having a understanding of Azure is going to be key to excelling in my current role and future-proofing my career.

Travel
Last year I travelled the most in one year than I can remember ever before. In May I went to Morocco to celebrate my friend’s birthday. In July I went to Saint Lucia to celebrate my sister’s birthday, and in October we took a family holiday to Croatia. I would recommend everywhere I went but especially Croatia for the kids. We stayed at a hotel called Valamar Lacroma which had a pool, right near a small beach and a massive, varied play area called Maro World where they could stay from 9am until 10pm every night for free (while supervised obviously)!
One Christmas my sister gave me a scratch of poster, and I was surprised at how little of the world that I had actually explored. After recognising just how much I really enjoy traveling to different countries and having experiences, I have three trips planned this year already.

Birthdays in August
I celebrated my birthday with my friends and sisters last year. We went out for dinner and the food was amazing. I like to eat so I was very happy. I also had some amazing cakes made to mark the occasion.
My niece Tavéiah turned one last year. It was a good day weather wise and we celebrated her birthday in the park with a lot of family and friends and games and food.

Stuck in a lift
As I was on the way to pick up my children one day from work, I got stuck in the lift at my office. This was actually completely my fault as the signs were there, but I just wasn’t thinking because I was trying to leave to catch a train. Luckily, it wasn’t long (I was only there for 30 minutes) before the doors were pried apart and I climbed out. And a positive out of this was that now I take the stairs all the time, my thighs get a great quick daily workout.
Foundervine’s Ascend programme
The Ascend programme has been a great experience. I have been connecting with investors and mentors that have steered my business you grow in new areas. Not only that but the connecting with the other cohort members have been equally beneficial. They have given me immense advice on things like my pitch and been a sounding board for some things rattling around in my head that I just needed to talk to someone about.
Got Glide certified

As I started using Glide for FOBBS in January, I decided to dive into the platform and get fully certified achieving the Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 and AI in Business certifications. I really like the ease of Glide and how quickly it allows me to create features that can delight my users. But, it is really a platform for B2B internal tools. I think I’ll have to migrate away evenutally and start to build out FOBBS properly this year to ensure that I have the right tech in place to scale.
Speaking at the Legal Storyteller Live 2024
In November, I had the pleasure of being invited to be on a panel for the first Legal Storyteller Live hosted in the The British Library.
The Legal Storyteller is a dedicated legal literacy hub for women-led-businesses and business owners from historically underrepresented communities. Their mission is to make legal resources accessible and relevant to you, empowering your business through clear, personalised legal support.
Throughout the years being in business, I’ve come across a number of legal challenges (thankfully none have been detrimental). So when I was asked to be part of a panel to share my early start up experience with others that could be going down similar paths, I said absolutely. It was a great evening and easy to learn from each other’s experiences.
I wrapped up the end of the year, working hard in all of my various endeavours. I actually tried to learn from this by making a plan to not be stretched so thin in 2025. Focus more on FOBBS and not split my focus with other courses and programmes (that doesn’t lead me towards my end goal), get in some good gaming time!
